Sun and shade: the perfect balance on hot days

Summer means long days spent outdoors. Enjoying breakfast in the morning sun, relaxing with a good book on the terrace or dining together in the garden until the sun goes down. As soon as the sun comes out, we love to take life outdoors. But it is often on the most beautiful days that the sun is at its strongest. That’s why it’s a good idea not to stay in full sun all day, but to regularly seek out a shady spot. This way, you can make the most of the summer weather while protecting yourself from excessive UV exposure.

Why is the UV index important?

Who doesn’t regularly check the weather forecast? Yet we often focus only on the expected temperature, while the UV index tells us much more about the strength of the sun. The higher the UV index, the faster your skin can burn.

On summer days with a high UV index, health authorities recommend taking extra care around midday and seeking sufficient shade. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean you have to go indoors. With a comfortable shady spot, you can stay outside longer and enjoy it even more.

Create shade whenever you want

A folding arm awning gives you exactly that flexibility. With one simple movement, you can create a pleasant shady spot on your terrace, allowing you to have lunch, relax or work comfortably without constantly sitting in direct sunlight.

Harol folding arm awnings offer a stylish combination of design, comfort and ease of use. At the touch of a button, you decide how much sun or shade you want, perfectly adapted to the time of day.

Shade that moves with your day

With a Harol pergola, you can create the ideal balance between sun and shade at any time of day. Simply adjust the slatted roof, or partially or fully retract the sun-protection fabric of a folding or roll-up system. For example, a pergola such as Versuz Linea lets you adapt the amount of shade to suit the moment.

This allows you to enjoy the first rays of sunshine in the morning, create cooling shade during the hottest hours of the day and end the evening comfortably in a pleasant outdoor environment. Your terrace becomes a place where you love to spend time, at any moment of the day and in every season.

Enjoy outdoor living with peace of mind

The best summer days aren’t about sitting in full sun all day, but about consciously alternating between sun and shade. With a stylish folding arm awning or a Harol pergola, you can create an outdoor space where comfort, design and ease of use come together. This way, you can enjoy summer at any time of day, exactly the way you want.

Wondering which solution best suits your home and terrace? Harol specialists will be happy to provide personalised advice, so you can enjoy stylish shade and optimal outdoor comfort for years to come.
